Atenolol â Side-Effects, Safety and Recall Information

According to the FDA's data on side effects of Atenolol®*, side effects are not common, but they can occur. Tell your doctor if any of these side-effects are severe or do not go away:


· dizziness
· lightheadedness
· excessive tiredness
· cold hands and feet
· upset stomach
· diarrhea

If you experience any of the following side-effects, call your doctor immediately:

· shortness of breath or wheezing
· swelling of the feet and lower legs
· sudden weight gain
· chest pain


 

*Atenolol® is marketed by various manufacturers for use as an antianginal and antihypertensive beta blocker. The active ingredient is atenolol.
