About Senior Health News

image of webmaster Unfortunately, health (like wealth) has become more and more unevenly distributed in the US. Millions of Americans lead healthy life styles and get good health care services when they need it. Millions of other Americans do not eat or exercise properly and have little or no access to good quality, timely health care services.

In spite of health care insurance reform, getting healthy and staying healthy in America will more and more come down to individual responsibility. That is especially true for seniors -- the demographic most vulnerable to debilitating illnesses.

Senior Health News is not designed to offer medical advice to readers. Rather, having received relevant information, readers will be prepared to ask better questions of health care professionals who do offer advice. Also, readers will better understand the answers they get and the importance of following medical advice.

The website for Senior Health News was designed to be useful to seniors and others in its ease of reading and navigation. The greatest value for most people will come from its custom newsletters that are designed to be timely and relevant to the health concerns of individual readers.

I want to acknowledge help I have received from Susanne Yeagley, MD, for reviewing the factual content of the website, from Jim Link for web development, and Marcy Palmer for web design. However, any errors in information or its presentation are strictly my own.
